Resulta que navegando por internet, conocí la web de Dave Bunker, quien desarrolló un sistema de ajuste del alma con ciertas diferencias que no logro apreciar del todo.

With a conventional guitar neck truss rod, the neck is actually compressed between points A and C. This, along with the string tension, kills the necks resonance at point B.

On a Tension Free Neck™, which is separated at B from the headstock, all of the stress is on the cold-rolled steel rod between A and C. The pin through the neck at point F secures the neck and fingerboard, leaving the stress on the steel rod at point C.

On the back of each neck, at D (on the heal), there is an access hole where you can adjust the neck to forward or back bow.

These necks can be retrofit to any guitar or bass.

How The Neck Adjustment Works

1. Isolated Head stock
2. Tension Free Rod
3. Neck
4. Heel of Guitar
5. Neck Adjustment
6. Tension-Free Rod Anchor / Pivot Do Not Remove


ADJUSTMENT THROUGH FRET BOARD

1. Locate access hole where neck joins body on front of fret board.
2. Insert the wrench supplied with your instrument into the neck adjustment screw.
3. Turning this adjustment counter-clockwise will place a relief in the neck, resulting in a higher string height.
4. Turning this adjustment clockwise will place a back bow in the neck, resulting in a lower string height.
5. You will notice a neutral position between the two adjustment settings where the adjustment is loose. It is never advisable to leave the adjustment in this position.


ADJUSTMENT THROUGH BACK OF HEEL

1. Locate access hole cover on the back of the heel and remove.
2. Insert the wrench supplied with your instrument into the neck adjustment screw.
3. Turning this adjustment clockwise will place relief in the neck, resulting in a higher string height.
4. Turning this adjustment counterclockwise will place a back bow in the neck resulting in a lower string height.
5. You will notice a neutral position between the two adjustment settings where the adjustment is loose. It is never advisable to leave the adjustment in this position.


WHY THE BAR INSTEAD OF A TRUSS ROD?

¿Qué se sabe de este sistema? Leo y releo y no me llega a quedar del todo claro ni como funciona ni como esta hecho.

Juraría que ese es el sistema que llevaban las Ibanez USA custom. De hecho el nombre es el mismo...
