About Furez 2400 Series In-Wall HDMI Cable Construction
24AWG Conductors - 24AWG was chosen for to its minimal signal loss and moderate flexibility. We investigated using 22AWG but the cable was practical for use.
Tinned Copper - Furez Products chose tinned copper for HDMI cable lifetime reasons. Copper and silver plated copper conductors will oxidize over degradation. You might think that the insulation on the conductor would prevent oxidation but consider the cable construction. HDMI cables have 19 insulation of each conductor must be minimized or the cable diameter would be too large to manage. Insulating materials will slowly allow atmospheric time and corrode the conductors. The use of tinned copper dramatically slows this natural process.
Triple Shielding - We use an 85% tinned copper braid plus 2 mylar foils shields to block out EMI and RFI interference.
Metal Connector - We chose a metal connector over a molded connector simply because the metal shell adds shielding that was lost due to stripping solder connections of the HDMI connector.
What is HDMI 1.3 Category 2 for Cables?
Higher speed: HDMI 1.3 Category 2 cables now support increased increased its single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands devices, such as higher resolutions Deep Color and high frame rates. In addition, built into the HDMI 1.3 specification is the technical foundation that reach significantly higher speeds.
Deep Color: HDMI 1.3 Category 2 cables now support 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths, up from the 8-bit depths in previous specification, for stunning rendering of over one billion colors in unprecedented detail.
Broader color space: HDMI 1.3 Category 2 Cables now support “x.v.Color™” which enables the display of any color viewable by the human eye.
HD lossless audio formats: HDMI 1.3 Category 2 Cables now supports new lossless compressed 7.1 digital audio formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-What is HDMI 1.3 Category 1 for Cables?
HDMI.org minimum requirements for HDMI 1.3 Category 1 cables requires a minimum bandwidth of 75Mhz, which is the equivalent of a 1080i sig
HDMI cables surpass this minimum all the way up to 18 meters (59 Feet) by attaining 1080P bandwidth.
